Where Are the Farmers Products in May?
Hayton Organic Strawberries
Well, if you live in Western Washington you know it is difficult to have locally grown produce if it keeps raining and the sun does not get a chance to shine. However, if the farmers/grower has a hoop house or green house
which would mean this produce is from the state of Washington, "Not imported"
from California, Oregon, other states or Mexico. You will not see oranges, bananas, mangoes or out of season fruit at a WSFMA Farmers Market. We strictly sell in season crops, or farmers/producers may have value products from local growers.
What can you expect to see during the month of June throughout the Everett Farmers Market? Strawberries, cherries, raspberries, sugar snap peas, fava beans, sweet onions, dozens of greens & lettuces, rhubarb, apriums, squash blossoms, shelling peas, radishes, cucumbers, carrots, hothouse tomatoes, asparagus, celery, cauliflower, scallions, beets, turnips, potatoes, fresh herbs (coriander, lemon balm, mint, oregano, chives, thyme, sage, tarragon, basil), hazelnuts.
Also available: dried fruits, pasture-raised pork, beef, poultry, eggs, goat and cow cheeses, fresh pasta, honey, pastries, artisan breads, ciders, hard ciders, jams, jellies, sauces, spreads, preserves, syrups, and seasonal cut flowers.
Support your local farmers, growers and processors, make your list weekly and buy from those at the Snohomish Farmers Market on Thursday!
